Microtec has carried out a proof of concept for this new automated grading system with one of its clients in the U.S.
Goldeneye 600 for hardwood grading in linear feed, Goldeneye 900 in a transversal feed. This scanning system provides fast, accurate and constant grading and sorting of hardwood lumber and therefore increases production yield.

The National Hardwood Lumber Association, founded in 1898, is the world's largest and oldest hardwood industry association. It established a uniform system of grading rules for the measurement and inspection of hardwood lumber and offers lumber grading training.
Internationally recognized NHLA Grading Standards ensure hardwood transactions are made on a level playing field.
Virtually all commerce in hardwood lumber (reportedly more than 97%) is conducted according to NHLA rules and sales code.
