Technology: Microtec’s grading machines perform many combinations to grade in strength classes. This means that the output is an essential increase of yield.
Since October of 2014 there are available optimized machine settings for all grading machines to grade spruce from northern Europe. Spruce (Picea Abies) from Norway, Sweden, Finland and Estonia are graded according to EN 14081 in C-classes according EN 338. Through continuous research and development we were able to increase the yield. All the sorting machines have a great number of combinations in class grading. For the combination C30/C24 it has been possible to increase considerably the yield in C30, without growing the reject rate. Two completely new grading classes are available for production of laminated lumber in GL30c according to EN 14080:2013: C36T22 meets the requirements for T22 C25 T15 meets the requirements for T15
Goldeneye 706 is the most precise grading machine currently on the market: Spruce from northern Europe can be graded into the strength class C45. It is possible to activate these settings by remote maintenance on all the grading machines from Microtec. At the sawmill of SCA Tunadal these settings are already working. Katarina Levin, CEO of SCA Tunadal sawmill tells us: «We are very happy with Viscan that we are working with for 5 years now. Thanks to the optimized settings, the quality of our raw material shows in higher production statistics, which is really pleasant.»
