Microtec gets strength grading accreditation for black pine from France

France accepts and officializes new machine settings according to the Standard EN 14081.
Microtec is the first machine manufacturer, enabled to grade dried and green European black pine from France according to EN 14081. During the last session of the European standard settings association CEN/TC124/TG1 of June 2013, the machine settings for Viscan and Viscan Compact have been officialized. With Viscan Compact it is possible to grade green lumber right after sawing. The highest grading class is C45. FCBA, the French testing institute in Bordeaux, has been involved for the considerable breaking tests.

At present Microtec is able to grade according to many machine settings with wood species from France as mentioned below:

Spruce (picea abies)
Fir (abies alba)
Dougles fir (pseudotsuga menziesii)
Larch (larix decidua)
Sitka spruce (picea sitchensis)
Corsican pin (pinus nigra subsp. laricio)
