Claymark: Quality detection with Multi-Sensory application made by Microtec

Pays: Rotorua & Katikati, New Zealand
Partenaire: System TM

Together with the decision makers and chief operators of Claymark, Microtec carried out a very interesting project and delivered three Multi-Sensor Scanning devices for remanufactured wood products. The machine grading with Microtec solutions such as Multi-Sensor Quality Scanner Goldeneye 502, moisture meter M3 Scan and Curvescan Board Shape Scanner gives more added value to the final product.

At the Rotorua plant, two lines are carried out with a cross cut scanner from System TM. All existing cross-cut lines are provided by System TM and Microtec delivered a Goldeneye 502 scanner for the moulder line operation area. It is a scanner system for quality grading of profiles and boards in longitudinal feeding. The scanner scans the boards from 4 sides at 150 m/min feeding speed. The second line is a new one. It is also equipped with a Goldeneye 502 and a M3 Scan in longitudinal feeding. The feeding speed of the moulder is up to 100 m/min, the scanner feeding speed is up to 150 m/min.

Regarding the plant in Katikati, here we can find an existing dual saw cross cut line OptiTM from System TM. The short lamellas are finger jointed and then transported to Rotorua for further processing. The scanner system for quality grading of profiles and boards in longitudinal feeding is integrated in this cross-cut line. The scanner feeding unit has a feeding speed of up to 300 m/min. Goldeneye 502 for 4-sided full profile scanning (featuring dimension, scatter, grain deviation and color) and grading of mouldings and dressed boards with in line moisture meter M3 Scan and Curvescan both in longitudinal feeding.
